W@W Xmas Party 2006

Weddings at Work had its Christmas Party last Friday, Nov. 24 held at Fernwood Gardens. We were at fernwood around 830 p.m. already. We saw Delby and Trez of Delby Bridal Gowns (www.delbybrides.com) at the parking area who, like us just arrived too. We were also seated together at last years w@w Xmas Party held at Villa Immaculada. Lucky for me because I enjoyed talking with Delby who is super nice contrary to her snobbish looks. And I admire her because she so super poised with her matching well done hair and make up.

We met new suppliers as well who were already seated on the table we occupied. Cherry Pacheco Uy – (Make Up Artist and Editor-in-Chief of Disney Princess, Summit (www.cherrypachecouy.com); Karen Marek of Blushing Bride – she’s Karen Timbol of That’s Entertainment (www.theblushingbride.us) along with Ariel and Maya. We even joined the gown making contest made of tissue (I joined this last year too), but the male suppliers won judged with the loudest applause. he! he! he! We were given mini directors chair as consolation prizes, it’s cute nga eh!

Lots of raffle prizes were given. Gleoh even won Vienna Chocolate Cake from the raffle which I ate right after we got home. The calendars we received as tokens were super nice, i love the layout – reminds me to make my scrapbook layouts for the holidays. I hope to meet the winners of the Gift Certificates we gave out too.

This yearly party is a very fun way in meeting suppliers from the same industry and in having a good time with fellow suppliers and w@wies too. Congratulations to the Top 10 wedding suppliers, the top 5 wedding suppliers and to Paul Vincent for winning the top wedding supplier for the year 2006. Congrats also to John and Benz Rana for another successful W@W Christmas Party.

Sneak Preview

In 2 weeks time, the renovation would be finished. Few more touch ups to go: wall mural, modular headers, signage, merchandise, lan cabling, equipments to move in, employees training etc. Dami pa pala! I salute our contractor for finishing on time – 2 weeks lang, galing! and we never had headaches while renovating, never nagpuyat, permits are secured, never nawalan, nice employees, very professional. Now we have more time to be productive.

EB of Wedding Suppliers

Yesterday, March 13, we had our first W@W SDG Grand EB (EB stands for Eye Ball – ooh, the radio days!!!) held at Atlanta Center, Greenhills. Not all suppliers in the wedding industry know each other and this is a great opportunity to see the faces behind the great names.

Saw suppliers I knew, Mimi and Karl (Fotogra), Jody (Events Experts), Joel Salindong (JSDV)Jason Magbanua, Buddy Gancenia, Tish and Ron (Balay Kandila), Abie and Clarice (An Event to Remember), Erica Que (Perfect Moments), Meme and Marvin (Konsepto)….. Met Paulo Clemente, Pang Magbanua, Edwin and Ellen Tuyay (E Photo Gallery), John Parado (Inxites), Mheann Genillo (Smart Shot), Roger (Anima Choir), Nona Clemente (C & C), Chinky Agregado (Metro Eventscape), Archie Paungan, Emersson Sy and Farah (OA Sweets). Others I know by the face but was too shy to approach them. On the next EB, I’ll let go of my “shy” kuno personality and hopefully I’ll meet more suplliers.

Food was catered, games are fun, everyone’s cooperative and we even had a sort of exchange gift / raffle prize thingy. Got a Marks and Spencer Bath Foam from Jody L. Super loved it! The boat was sinking game made it even more exciting – teynks to Papa Paulo, plus find a partner and get to know each other, what services you’re offering plus of course, the exchange of calling cards and the chikahan blues. And wow! we’re one of the winners at the newspaper dance wherein participants were either husband-wife or boyfriend-girlfriend tag team. but i ended up being carried by Tito Edwin and Gleoh being starstrucked with the alluring moves of Tita Ellen (E Photo Gallery). Saya!

Synchronized Dual Projector/Screen Rentals

While it has been a common practice by soon-to-be-wed couples to rent brighter (higher lumens) projectors and bigger screens to ensure maximum viewing pleasure for guests, this is not always the best AV solution.

Factors such as guest table location (proximity to the screen) or reception venue layout (obstructions like walls, trees, dividers, tabletops etc) should also be considered.

At times, 2 projectors with modest brightness(lower lumens) can provide a better impact to your guests than renting a single hi-lumens projector. The projectors will be arranged in such a way that each guest (seated at the front or back, or located at one side with obstructed view or not) can choose a nearer or better viewing angle.
